Hi everyone,
We have not updated the blog for a few weeks now, but not to worry - we are still hard at work! We have now moved our weekly reports to a slideshow that we will be sharing with parents! Now you can learn about our inspiration for this project, live profit updates, and more. Look below:

School Store - Week 2 Report
With the addition of candy in the School Store, we received over three times the amount of sales as Week 1! Kids have still forgot money though, so we think that some kind of written, sent-home flyer will have to take effect soon. For Week 3, we are considering a 20% off teacher discount, so teachers can buy in bulk, save more, and still help our cause. Also, we might see another boost in sales: we have only been able to sell at 7th Grade lunch, but Mr. Finnegan may be able to sell for us at 6th and 8th!
Highlights of Week 2:
Highlights of Week 2:
- Finally, we are almost out of stock in notebooks! Percentage-wise, this has been our best-selling item (Pencils are best-selling in terms of units sold).
- With the boost in sales from candy, we are now on track to making a small but considerable profit!
We will be back next week for another update.

School Store - Week 1 Report
Unfortunately, Week 1 of our School Store did not go as well as we expected. We got four sales in total, and around $10 in revenue. This means that at this rate we will not be able to make any actual profit, as we still have to pay back the $30 of supply cost. However, we think that the low amount of sales is due to the fact that most people did not know that there was a school store, despite it being on the announcements! We need to find another way to advertise and ensure that students remember to bring in money - a lot of kids actually do want to buy, they just forgot money.
We were also thinking that selling candy as a bundle deal (ex. buy five pencils, get a Jolly Rancher; buy colored pencils, get two, etc.) would boost our sales as everyone wants candy!
All in all, we hope to come back with a better report next week!

School Store Opening!
At last, after months of work, we have finally opened our school store! We will be selling various items on a small rolling-cart, seen here:
We hope to make a large profit with this event, and make a lasting impact on the school with our service. We will be back next week with a report on how we did!

School Store
We as a group has decided to run a school store for our first service project. All profits will go towards scholarships for students who cannot join extra-curricular activities, to contribute towards our goal of $100. for We will have a conversation with our principal, Mr. Pollet, sometime today or this week, and start working on setting up the store later this month (at least by February).
